A customer from Texas sent this letter, and the following pictures. It address debris in the $50 bags of coins. This debris can sometimes stop a Ryedale in it's tracks. Great Idea here from a Ryedale User, great to see ingenuity like this.
Heres his letter..........
Hey Andy- Thanks- That's the site I was looking for! Here's some large pic's. First is the sluice and the ladder I use for a little elevation angle and a cat food container cut out on top. Second is how I set it up. Third is a closeup. Fourth is the sluice in action. It shows 2 bags ($100) in the bucket that were cleaned in less than 2 minutes. Note the debris on the paper below. It's 4' long and I hang it up by the legs when I'm done. The legs are merely to keep it from sliding when you dump the pennies in. I'm sure someone could figure out a better setup but I just did something with scrap I had and it really does get the crap out. String, hair and rubber bands, etc. hang up in the mesh. The cleaner the batch, the better the run! Hope this helps.

| Nice idea. Know if somebody would invent something that takes gum off pennies before they go in the Ryedale. That stupid gum has gotten me many times. So many times that I've started to scan rolls before I open them looking for suspicious gaps between pennies...of course you can't do that with paper rolls. A gap is usually either a bent coin or something stuck to a coin...both are bad news. |
