| I know I am going to be buying atleast 1 of each as they come out. You know that whatever the premium may be, the value will climb substantially. I can't wait. |

they say that they are made and backed up by the UNITED sTATES mINT? if they are why does the United States mint have trouble getting enough planchets to make the SAE`s, in 2009 and 2010 they either have it or they don`t. if they can`t make the one ounce how can they make the 5 oz. will these be made for every year since 1986 to 2010 and beyond? I can`t find anything about them on the Mints site. |

I've been planning on getting one of each (At least) depending on the premium. I recently wrote my rep about the unavailability of silver eagles from the mint, partly because I have a concern that things like this may become available only in bulk to dealers and leave us helpless except to pay their premiums.

Are they really denominated at just $1?? That is what APMEX info says.
Kinda lame. Should be $5 or $10 denomination!
I probably won't get them if their premium is more than $4 or $5 a coin.
Not sure if APMEX DID have any, but they don't have any right now. |

| Is it cheaper to buy directly from the mint vs apmex? Weird how it only shows one side of the coin |

Here is the scoop on the America The Beautiful 5 oz bullion coins.
They will have a face value of $0.25.
They will be an exact replica of the current ATB quarter except larger. The same obverse and reverse of each of the five quarters released each year.
The weight and fineness of the silver will be stamped on the edge of the coin.
The edge of the coin will be smooth and not have reeding, to allow for the weight and fineness to be imprinted.
The silver for the ATB bullion coins can be outsourced unlike the silver bullion for the Silver Eagle program. Hence the availability of silver for the ATB bullion program and lack of silver for the Proof and Uncirculated Eagle program.
The Mint has purchased a new machine specifically to strike the new ATB bullion coins. Thus there will only be a limited number of each coin struck.
My guess is that the price for each coin might be around $119.95 to $129.95 to cover the costs of production and to pay for the new machine. Again that is a guess. If that is the price I will probably buy 2 of each coin as they are released.
The ATB bullion coins will only be available through authorized resellers and possibly from the National Park gift shops only. They will not be sold directly to the public from the mint. |

That is all the info I have been able to gather so far. No date or price has been established. The last I heard is that the mint was still running test strikes on the new press. They are trying to keep the QA top notch on all the coins produced.
My opinion is that they will be selling on ebay for a significant premium not long after they are released. Not too many people in the general public are even aware that they will be made. My local coin shop did not even know about them.
Can you imagine how much the first five coins from the State Quarter program would be worth had they made a 5 oz silver version of them? Just look at the price of the silver proofs.. |

They have not been for sale yet. Apmex is just getting ready. No one has had any to sell yet. We are anxiously waiting for the US Mint to start producing.. |
