I got another '63 $1 bill today. One is an "A" series, the other is a "B". I have some older fifties and a couple of older hundreds, all pulled from circulation. Seems to be an epidemic....

I found a V nickel in change, it was given to me at mcdonalds. It was in G-4. Pretty rare coinsidering that they are so old! Doesn't that rank up there with finding an indian or flying eagle? |

Yesterday my husband got back one of those "gold" plated quarters in change at Target. It's just a regular quarter, really. I think places like the Franklin Mint put them out and sell them in sets. I consider that to be defacing money for profit. Is it? |

When I go to dump halves I always have 4 zincers and 2 dimes in my pocket to throw in, reason being I always get back 2 dimes (no silver yet) and 4 cents (coppers sometimes). Anyways I always check the reject for coin, I have gotten a silver dime twice that way, and more coppers than the tellers give ME. Last month I was going about my business and when I checked the reject there was a few coins in it, I scanned them and put them in my other pocket. I noticed I got an 1872 something but didn't recognize it so I thought it was foreign. Well here's a couple of pics. HH Mark

Very nice 3 cent nickel. I have never gotten one of those in change. Folks back in the old days had problems distinguishing them from dimes because they were about the same size.. the mint never learns. I have one of these in my collection that has a big "3" punched into it. |

Nice. I picked up a half dime yesterday, though not in change! Did you clean it or was it that nice?

I got a double whammy today. I received a '47D back from the BBQ place at lunch, and I found a '43 in the "take-a-penny" container! First steel cent I have found in one of those. It's a little rusty but nice none the less.

gothboi30, sorry I don't know much about U.K coins, but as stated in another thread there are now a few members from across the pond that could possibly help. natsb88, a silver find always makes for a good day. And a wheat to boot!

p.s. What's so special about a '78 D? Am I missing something? |

Deal- it's ok, legacypac already replied to my question about the '99 UK penny. It's copper plated steel. Pre-'92 pennies are the copper ones, apparently. |

While not exactly a pocket change find...While riding my bike about a week ago my eye caught what I thought was a nickel but when I went to pick it up I found that the coin was 5 cent 2005 Bahamian coin. I was sort of confounded by it's being in the gutter, I mean really?

That's awesome. They CAN grow wheat up there.... I saw a '45 S today in a take-a-penny tray. So I took it.

While going thru my cup holder full of change in my truck I found a 1963 dime stuck to a 1978 cent. The cent was covered in a copper oxide slime that was very tar like. I'd like to harvest a ton of this slime to wave over bags of halves to get the silver ones to stick to the slime! |

My girlfriend insisted on Wendy's for lunch. Reluctantly I went along. Glad I did. A '64 Roosevelt back in change. A lot of my good finds have came from fast food restaurants that I didn't want to go to. Oh well, it all counts. This year has been okay for me as far as wild silver finds. Keep 'em coming I say.
