I have about $900 worth of silver and I am looking to sell it. How can I get top dollar for it?

I'm far from a pro at this, but you said you wanted "instant cash" and "top dollar"...those 2 may not go hand in hand. Instant cash = pawn shop, we buy gold type of place and surely you wont get top dollar there.
Maybe try a coin shop? Can probably get a better price there than a pawn shop. |

I walked into several "we buy gold" locals around my town. Many try to give me $7 an ounce. One place even said $3.50 per ounce is all they could do.
I walked into a coin shop and sold them some gold, but he said that he was not really interested in silver, because its so low right now.
I will look for more coin shops. |

CopperFinder, why are you wanting to sell your silver? I'm strongly of the opinion that silver is dirt-cheap right now compared to where it's probably heading in the next few years and I don't know many people who would want to sell silver right now even though it's inching toward $20. If you need the cash, is there anything else you can sell instead?? Here's food for thought:

The only things I'd sell silver for right now would be tools I need for long-term needs. Case in point, I just traded $8.50 face value worth of pre-1965 quarters for a vacuum sealer that's big enough to seal 5-gallon mylar food storage bags and sold another 7 ozs. silver so I could buy a .22 semi-auto for deep concealed-carry. |

what form of silver is it? Bars, Silver rounds, American coins, foreighn coins? What are you asking per troy ounce? I know you want top dollar, but what is top dollar, this may be a one day jump in price? Where are you located, if close I will drive to buy.

if you want the best price, you have to sell to an individual who does not have access to wholesale coin prices.
coin dealers will buy at a wholesale price. for junk silver, that's usually at least 1X face below spot. pawnshops and rip off coin dealers will be even less.
craigslist - you can get over spot potentially but its not quick and its a lot of hassles. try going to coin clubs, posting on gun message boards, etc. be sure to maintain your security and privacy.
real cent - you can get very close to spot if you are patient. there are a lot of people selling silver all of a sudden that the price is up, so you will have to be patient. |
Buying: Peace/Morgan G+ at $15.00 copper cents at 1.3X wheat pennies at 3X

So low? Explain to him about the concept of buy low and sell high. Are you sure he didn't say it was too high? |

You might have better luck if you break the lot size down, you limit the number of your bidders by the size of the face lot |
