Hi. I'm looking to get a good/great deal on 1 or 2 silver eagles. Bulliondirect comes to mind. Any other reputable dealers out there??

BD add 1% to the price. and pricey shipping. Great place to buy in bulk, but a couple of coins are not cost effective.

Look at your local coin shops or pawn shops. I find AE's every so often only a dollar or so over melt.

Gothboi, why are you only looking to buy 1 or 2 ASEs?

And if that's all the ASEs you want, your local coin shop should be the perfect place--cash and carry, no paper trail.

But again, why just one or two of them?

If you really look around you sometimes will find offers even below spot from dealers who are fishing for new prospects. Often magazines will carry them.

You won't get a "great" deal from any of the major online dealers on just 1 or 2 coins because of the shipping (I believe APMEX has a $50 minimum order anyway). You might be able to snag a couple on eBay. I also like Provident Metals (You must be logged in to see this link.).

I agree. EBay and a local dealer are two of your best bets. But also, check out any local flea market. The larger ones almost always have at least one vendor selling coins.

ask a local dealer to see their generic silver.

i think i'm about 8/10 or so of finding circulated ASE's in with the 'happy mother's day' bars.
