Has anyone ever scrapped old CO2 tanks? They are large tanks used with soda foutains. I can tell the nozzle is brass. Anyone know what the body of the tank might be?

Some are aluminum, some are steel. We have a couple steel and 1 Al. Gotta make sure to have enough CO2 for the beer.

Normally they are worth more as the tank than they are for the scrap. Might want to try to sell them to someone else first before scraping or checking to see if your local welding gas supply place buys tanks.

Many tanks are owned by the local beer or soda vendors. Just a watch out...

Thanks for the warning. I never considered that.
