Finally found a couple of banks near me that had halves.. It was worth the wait..
Bank #1 $11.00 loose... Skunk
Bank #2 $410.00 CWR (1) 1966 (7) 1967 (8) 1968-d (5) 1969-d
Bank #3 $40.00 CWR (1) 1969
Bank #4 Offered to sell me the halves from the coin counter!! But I had to open an account. I think ok.. So I open the account and it turns out that I get a free iPod touch for opening the account!! Yeah!! Then they sell the halves to me.. $320.00 loose in bag. (1) 1964-d (1) 1966 (4) 1967 (4) 1968-d (5) 1969-d
Picked up a $250.00 in dimes from another bank. About $65.00 in CWR and the rest in BWR..
The following was in the CWR's.. 1 roll was short 1 dime and 2 rolls were long 1 dime each. (1) 1949-s Roosie
The BWR were skunked.
I also picked up a 1944-S War Nickle at a pawn shop for $0.20.. |

Box 1 Skunk
Box 2 1 - 1953S Rosie
Bad weekend of CRHing for me.

The Red ones are from people who have found them metal detecting. As the nickles stay in the soil they begin to turn red. They are also very hard to recognize the longer they stay in the ground. Buffalo's can sometimes be very hard to recognize and V nickles can almost be impossible to tell depending on soil conditions. My assumption is that most of your red buffalo's are fairly well worn? |

$250 quarters in CWR; yield = 0. $40 in CWR dimes = 0. $250 in bank rolled dimes = 1 1964D.
Pennies always give me something. Dimes are pretty low reward but the most consistent. I only do the quarters waiting for that outlier event that gives me several dozen silver quarters --- some day. I still do half dollars, but I don't get much payback anymore.

I never had much luck with dimes the bank rolls themselves or loose dimes. I've been sticking to NF String wrapped rolls/boxes for the most part. Keep lookin and good luck! |

I guess so, my bank wrapped dimes always produce (7 silver in $250 is my record). The only problem is my bank(s) always run out of them |

Going into town tomorrow. I'll be stopping at some selected dump bank branches (selected for their easy access by older folks and others to bring in their coins) to buy their bags of halves. I'm bringing a bunch of halves with me just in case I have to top off their bags. This method can't be worse than the 45 1994-P BU boxes I have seen lately from Brink's (no longer using that source anymore!! ). Maybe I'll be back in the game. |

Country I have to admire the hell out of your persistence. If I were thru 45 of those boxes I think I would call it a day on sorting. Good Luck. |
