FYI- LNB is Low Noise Block which is the high-gain electronic guts (at the focus of the parabola) of a satellite dish receiver. They often have gold plated contacts and some germanium based microwave electronics. There are a lot of these around. Does anyone know if they have any scrap value for PM and if they are worth collecting?

Side question: Do you guys here hoard anything anything gold plated? This thing is screaming at me because it's across the street and trash day is tomorrow. I can't stand to see gold go down the road in a trash truck. Even if it's a few micrograms it's still gold.

I just started one this past month and have amassed a small collection of memory fingers and processors . It takes hundreds, if not thousands, of these things to refine but you've got to start somewhere.

If you know someone who raises chickens, they may be able to make an incubator out of the satellite dish.
