Has anybody ever tried removing the honeycomb inside of catalytic covertor to recover the material that has the PM's? I have a few, and looked thru the exhaust pipe and could easily see the honeycomb. It looked like it would be easy to break up and just pour out the pipe. I am just wondering if it would be worth it to recover the honeycomb and just scrap the casing.
It is a process that needs machines. If you mess with it and break it all up without extracting the palladium you will then lose your value as a raw converter.
I have heard of a few selling the dust to a refiner but that is where my knowledge ends on these. As they bring substantial profit just as they are in raw form. Selling in bulk brings more money. It was an easy flip as some bring $150.00 per.
