Very nice design. He didn't actually say it but he is using surgical tubing. that is fairly easy to find.

Not to worry about the joint between the handle and the end piece. The tension does not act on that joint, it acts on the belt. So the end piece is not going to come loose. My own tip: When you put the belt on, turn the bolts out so they don't poke your hand. Not in like he has them.

I think attaching the side pieces with 2 screws each instead of just one in the center will eliminate the risk of them rolling on the handle.
PS. By the way, slingshots are illegal in NYC and NJ. Yet people in USA are whining about Uncle Joe Stalin...
