Those of you shipping $1G at a time, who do you use, and how much is it?
I'd like to see what costs are also in moving $500, and $100 batches too.
Thanks.

The "shirt box" that the USPS offers can ship a BOATLOAD of pennies for $10.70, within the 48 states.
You can get the boxes for free, and get them shipped directly to your house, again for free.

Once, when I was considering selling copper on eBay, I tried packing 10lbs of rolled copper pennies into one, just to see how much room it would take. About 3 rolls of copper makes a pound, so 30 rolls later, I hadn't even come close to taking up half a box.
Without a doubt, this is the most cost effective way to ship. Be sure to secure your pennies inside with lots of newspaper or something, else they could break through the end of the box when they slide around. |

I have never bought a "box" of pennies from a bank, but I can see that being an option if I continue to enjoy this as much as I am right now.
How many pennies are in a box? |

Never mind. I re-read your post. Thanks.
I edited my post to update with your info. I thought the medium box was only 4.85. Still a good deal to mail that much weight, though. |

And tape the outside of the box all over. |

This is the box to use when shipping your $100.00 face value box of copper pennies. Puts the weight a tad over 69lbs when packaged correctly. The limit is 70lbs. This box seems like it was made perfectly for these size lots. |
