Couldn't find the thread where I had posted originally so, new subject.

I just picked up one 1922 peace dollar and two walking liberty halves, 1944 & 1945 from my local bank teller. This teller actually called me on my cell phone to tell me another customer had deposited them and asked me if I wanted them! This was one of those no brainers I didn't have to think about. She saved them in her drawer 'till I picked them up a week later.

When I went in to pick them up I brought two boxes of very good chocolate for all of the tellers. I'm hopeing they will remember me in the future. I call this Service Excellence!

A WEEK? Man I would have been there that day.

Still a sweet deal. My bank will call if they have a bunch of pennies to unload, but not to tell me they have silver.

You don't have to be the BEST you just have to be.......SLICK

Mcprice, dakota: I've always taken care of the people in the trenches. It's the source of "real" information. Stay away from admin. They only tell you what they want you to hear.

knibloe: I'm somewhere between Auburn & Syracuse. LOL, hope that helps.

slickeast: I actually went in a day before I was 'sposed to. I was trying to beat the 20" of snow that hammered us. However, my teller did not work that day and no one was going to open her drawer w/o her being there. Three days later, we shoveled the rest of the way out and went to the bank as soon as we were able.

Thanx all, love the replys.

I just signed up a new account at a bank, and the teller told me, "you know all coins before um...1965 I think, are silver?" I replied, "ya I've heard that before." She then went on to tell me how a customer deposited 8 Morgans dated 1888. She bought them from the till and sold all but one to a reputable dealer. She also told me that there is someone who buys all their halves. sigh :(

Soundman.. Sounds like a great bank to dump halves at until you discourage the competition.

If your percentages are low.. just sort more. If your percentages are high.. just sort more.

Now selling Copper pennies. 1.6x plus shipping. Limited amounts available.
