I need a kind soul with a Krause World Coins 1800's book to help with 5 coins from a lot I just bought from Coll3cter...(I only have the 1900's book )
What I need is: KM# Weight Fineness ASW Yrs Minted (From that KM# only)
Coins: -1882 Newfoundland 50 Cents -1874 Denmark 10 Ore -1853 US Half Dime -1885 Swiss 20 Rappen (I'm sure this is Ni, but not 100% sure in the 19th century)... -???? Arabic coin (See link below-1st coin 3rd row) Almost positive it's Egyptian, but the 1900's book doesn't show the exact coin, so I'm thinking it's slightly older.

Thanks a bunch for any help!

1874 Denmark 10 Ore KM# 795.1 1.45g .400 fine .0186 ASW 1814-1891
1853 Half Dime KM# 76 1.24g .900 fine .0359 ASW 1853-1855
Could be a KM# 62.2(1840-1853. Same specs, but did not have arrows flanking the date. However, only 160,000 minted, versus 13,210,020 minted for new KM.
1885 Swiss 20 Rappen KM# 29 4.0g Ni 1881-1900

Wow guys that was fast!
uthminsta- may camera is terrible for macro shots...I 'll wait and see if anyone else weighs in, then get a friend to shoot the coin later if need be.
Thanks again! |

No just a camera with a macro setting that doesn't take macro shots!
I believe it's an Egyptian Qirsh from the late 1800's... |

Okay, yeah. What is the diameter? It looks like the date is (AH)1327 which means 1909. |

Uthminsta...You're the man! The 1909 date was a big help...after a little more digging, It's a 1909 Turkish 2 Kurush....0.8300 fine.
Mystery solved...I really thought it was Egyptian...
Thanks for your help! (and Bluegill too...) |
