Everyone likes to brag about their great finds. They never mention how long they look to find them. What's your longest dry spell... defined as how many dollars worth have you searched at a time without finding a single pre-1940 wheatie? I just went through $91 worth and zilch. Nada. Zero. Phooey!

Pooey?
Even if you you went through $92.00 I think that type of language is beneath you.
Actually i think I'm running about 2 pre 1940's per 150.00 in BWR's
I might have to eat some mushrooms out of my backyard to make these cents look better.
I'm 25.00 into my weekly 100.00 buy: 7 wheats no pre 1940. I got 75.00 to go.
But I'm too drun.....I mean tired to hand sort. There's always a tomorrow. |

All kidding aside. I really notice runs in certain boxes.. dimes, wheats, canadians etc.
It must be a function of how the coins are blended. |

I went on a three box dry spell, I am talking nadda not even a 50's wheat. Then my forth box nadda, no wheat's but did find a 1920, 1937 and 45 different 1940's Canadians. So I guess I would call these significant finds but yeah it took a $75 dry spell to get them. I was to the point of quitting but was hooked once again. I guess that's how it goes. I have started another dry streak again though two straight weeks and have sorted nothing. I really have to get back in the game, I am having serious withdraws.
Indians are mystical creatures that do not exist in the wild. $2000 + sorted and haven't even seen a feather. |

| $200 and counting. The $200 produced 19 wheats and only one in the 40's no Pre 40's. But I did find 4 rolls that were 80+% copper, with the newest date in those rolls being 1985. |

| I don't keep stats on how many I search vs what I've found so I can't give an accurate number, but I'm pretty sure it would be in the $50 range. I can get kind of depressing hand sorting coins and not finding anything worthwhile, then you find an error or Injun and forget all about those skunk rolls. |

I know I've had a $200 run at least without a pre '40 wheat. I think I've only ever come across about 10 pre '40s mintmarked. Lousy area for that. Had some great runs on post '40 wheat though. |

I just, minutes ago, busted a BWR with a George V 1932, 2 wheats 1919 and 1956d.
I bet I get more, they come in runs. |

| Ive been noticing a lot less pre 1940 wheats. I went through $200 and found about 50 wheats; only one was in the 1930s |

Have to take the good with the bad….$50.00 this past week with only 10 wheats and none older than 1944. Cu percentage was still average. |

| Thogey....your line about not buying a Ryedale because it would be like buying a brewery...and that you're still in denial. That was the funniest thing I've read on here. Thanks for making my day. I can relate. |

| rakattack, nope I am in Alaska. Extend my count to $240 without a pre 40 wheat. these produced decent copper and several dimes, just not many wheats. 23 in $240. |
