Greetings all,
Just wanted to take a moment to express my thanks to everyone on this forum, this is a great resource. I've been collecting coins on and off for the past 35 years, discovering and reading this forum (and treasurenet) has me jazzed about the coin hobby again.
I remain pleasantly surprised at the number of wheats coming in NF String boxes in the central plains states, I hope it continues. My mom got me into coins when I was little, she worked at a bank in the '50's and '60's. I still have her old school Lincoln book, and all of her IH finds from her days in the bank. This usually gives me a bit of inroads with even the hardest tellers, never a bad thing. Anyway, as someone who mainly just sorted CWR's for years, it's nice to see some archeological grade metal still floating around in the cardboard boxes!
HH, John

I love this forum too, JJM! Welcome, even though you have probably been lurking for quite some time! Enjoy your future boxes! Kirkland |

I agree. I hang around a number of forums and this one is, by far, the best. |

Thanks to everyone who chimed in.
Thanks for the welcome Kirkland, yup - I've lurked for a long time, this was my first post.
Marine70, all I can say is "ditto". Or should that be "oorah!"? (My father was a Marine, 51-53.)

Deal, thanks for the welcome. Not sure I'll have anything new to add to the mix. But I can probably help others make money by not following my PM buying / selling habits. In other words, do the opposite of what I'm doing...lol.
Ditto to Theo's comment as well.
And from another thread:
quote: Nothing wrong with shiny new boxes John.. you can often trade those for coppers or other coins that you need. Welcome to the forum. A lot of us here are collectors as well as hoarders. I have only been collecting about 9 years longer than you. My dad started me with one of those whitman thumbuster books when I was really young.
Sage advice HCBTT, thanks. :-) |

| I frequent several forums for different interests, but this one is head and shoulders above the rest. |
Are you throwing that out? |
