I was out hunting the local spots for about an hour today with very few halves to even speak of. 7 banks only had 5 halves altogether. I always save my personal bank for last because for some reason it always produces at least a couple of 40%ers and an occasional proof/NIFC to lift the spirits.
Today would be no different. When the teller brings me the $150 CWR's they had been holding for me, I saw 7 rolls were in clear twist-off tubes. This has only happened once before and I was smiling again! Got back to the car and all but 2 were solid 1971 S, one was all junk clad and the other a mix of proofs and clad.
The mixed roll had 8 more 71 S's and are you ready for this? Not 1, but 4 1970 S's ! Those 4 were the only silver of the day, but for some reason it felt better than the 78 silvers of a week ago. I've always heard how hard it is to find 70's and I get 4 in one stop ? These are my first 70's ever. God I love CWR's!
Total: 4-40% 1970S's, 108 proofs all 1971 S! Thanks for reading.

Nice score! Sounds like someone cracked open ALOT of proof sets to spend at face value. I would try some rolls of cents, nickels, dimes, quarters and dollars from the same bank to see if you could get the proofs that went with the halves.
I found a 1970-D half last year. Those 1970's are a rare find! |

| Thank you! I did ask if the person who brought those in had anything else with him and they said no. These apparantly came from a man who brings in small ammounts (50-$100) of halves every week. I have never gotten a 90% from this spot, but it almost always gives up 40% on a weekly basis. This week's load was kind of odd, obviously. After seeing this, I'm afraid he's getting down to his last now. Maybe this is good news for the next week or 2 anyways. |

I'm sorry to tell you this but those do not count...you are going to have to send them back to the bank.
they were not found in "rolls" they were found in Tubes
By the way, which bank did you say that was? |

Har har har, but they do count seeings how I purchased them from a bank at face. 
Would anyone have any interst in these? Maybe a trade for copper? Cash? |

Congrats on a great score! I got a couple of tubes of pennies the other day at one of my banks. Got all excited.. hoping there might be something good.. nah, it wasn't even all copper. I guess they just ran out of paper rolls to put the pennies in.
I would be interested in trading for all the halves. I have lots of copper to trade. |
