I was curious to see who the smallest of the small scale hoarders we have. here is my method I hand sort about 8 rolls a day while im at work so i get paid while I do it. most commonly i will stop after i reach about 50 cents use 2 quarters to even the till and i throw back the 82's and the really grimy cents. my hoard is increasing by about 1 roll a day. Cons i dont get to sort a lot of cent like the bigger sorters pros i Dont have to dump zincs at any banks.

also i get to check the nickle, dime, quarter rolls for silvers. and buy them at face value. working at a register is a lot of fun for someone like me. the most surprising thing for me is even at a roll a day it adds up really fast.

oh and here is a misc video to pass some time.

I get to sort about a box a week. I'm hoping to increase that though.

I'm currently doing a box or so every two weeks if I'm lucky. Just can't seem to find the time to do more here lately.

My sorting rate varies. Some weeks I am definitely sorting less than you are at about 40 rolls per week, provided that you work five days a week.

Other weeks, I am able to sort more pennies than you are currently searching.

I need to step it up though. The quart canning jar needs to be full of my new daughter(-in-law)'s birth year pennies by mid June of this year for her 25th birthday. Yikes. Better sort more and post less!

Enjoy your coin searches, everyone.

I sort one $50.00 bag of pennies from a coin counting machine per week. My Cu percentage here in Wisconsin is pretty good...~29% w/o the Cu 1982's. So for each $50 bag, I get to keep approximately 1,500 Cu cents per week. In addition to the $50 bag, I know that I could get multiple, multiple boxes if I really wanted to. Sorting halves and dumping the various denominations is my current limiting factor.

I'm probably the smallest fish here. I only sort what is in my pocket change, and have yet to purchase a box/bag. Right now I am holding all my cash in waiting for silver to come down a little more, or else I would start purchasing boxes and sorting.

I sort about 2 boxes a month - maybe a little more when it is cold like this. I don't have a large hoard and I doubt I would ever sell it for melt. I just want to save a couple hundred pounds of American history.

I am also hoping to purchase more silver if the price comes down.

I average a box a week. My sorting is very sporadic, I sometimes sort 4 boxes over a weekend, but don't sort again for several weeks.

Nokozan... you're lucky to work at a till. Are you in a bank, or retail? Just be careful not to let the boss catch you spending too much time with your hobby, they might frown on it and prevent you from doing any more. You've got a good thing going, don't blow it

Hoard now and hold on!

If I get the job at CVS hopefully I'll be able spend some time behind the till.

I am very spordic. Recently I have not had the time. Plus I have fatigued most of the banks around me so I have been trying to lay low for a while.

Awake, O kings of the earth! Come ye, O, come ye, with your gold and your silver, to the help of my people, to the house of the daughters of Zion, to the help of the people of the God of this Land even Jesus Christ.

I try and sort about a $25 box a week if I can. Look for wheats, S-mints, and anything unusual.

I sort 3 drawers (so $1.50) of pennies every day I am at work. I usually score about $0.30 in pre82s, good Canadians (I'm in MI) and grimey ones. I'm really small scale.

But I did find two silver nickles last year.

Uh, I sort a little....

Deal

Live free or die.
Plain and simple.

"If you love wealth more than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, depart from us in peace. We ask not your council or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you. May your chains rest lightly upon you and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen."

I usually ask for $10 when I go to the bank. This YEAR, I've probably only sorted $25. I'm also in the process of beginning a new ministry, so that is why I haven't done much.
