I picked up a penny today on my walk to work. It was on the sidewalk in front of a frat house near the university, with four or five college guys watching me and giggling. Like someone said above, once you get over the embarassment of going to the bank and asking for hundreds of dollars in change on a regular basis, one coin off the ground is nothing.

It is just about time to grab my yearly aluminum cans too. Once the snow melts all those cans that have been buried roadside all winter are easy picking. Another easy way to get goofy looks from passerbys.

MOVING SALE!!! Selling Copper Cents 1.4 shipped - in limited quantities PM me and we'll talk.

I often find pennies and even dimes on the ground but few nickels.

I don't mind a goofy look knowing my personal wealth just went up even if only by small fractions of a dollar:)

Once the snow melts in the parking lots where it was plowed into piles the lost change is exposed for the taking.

My grandmother had an old saying "Those who won't pick up pennies won't pick up dollars"

Picking up a penny off the sidewalk is a breeze...

If you want a challenge...

Try picking one up out of a urinal...

same concept for lake beds during droughts, for those with metal detectors. Water level recedes exposing all sorts of coins and rings

Hoard now and hold on!

I'll pick up anything. Free is free.

A free people ought not only to be armed and disciplined, but they should have sufficient arms and ammunition to maintain a status of independence from any who might attempt to abuse them, which would include their own government.''
