Finally -- finally -- finally!!!
I can finally report a pre-1940 wheat that I found searching rolls. I got one 1934 on Friday night. It has been a long--a very, very long--dry spell for me. Just finding many wheats of any dates has been rough, too, lately. I think I reported in the 2010 goals topic that I found ten wheat cents in all of March. That's pitiful, pitiful, pitiful!!!
Enjoy your coin searches, everyone. |

found '09 vdb, and about 5 or 6 '09P. I still haven't sorted the wheat jar for other dates but it's getting large so i'm sure there's plenty of pre-40 dates to post soon. |

I sorted 12 bank boxes in the Boston area since April 1,2010. Average number of Wheats in the first 7 boxes was around 12 to 14 each box. The last 5 boxes had between 43 and 55 Wheats in each box. Average copper is about 23 to 28 percent. These are the pre 1940 found no mint marks on any.
16 (2) 18 (1) 20 (1) 26 (2) 28 (3) 29 (2) 31 (1) 35 (4) 36 (3) 37 (3) 38 (1) 39 (2)

$25 Brink's Box
1926 - worn, crusty, and possibly buried at one time, but I can read the date. |

A long dry spell for me as well. But finally in the last couple of days things have turned 'positive'
1913 D clean, no problems, nice G condition 1919 P very nice .. F+ - VF 1936 P yawn 1939 P x2 double yawn
I'm a 'hand sorter so don't get through too many at one time, but it was nice to pick a couple rolls and find a couple of wheaties in each of the rolls. Hope this keeps up

Hahaha. Yeah, right. But they can't call me Grampa, cuz I don't have any kids, although I do know a few punk brats that I consider family. At least at MY advanced age, I still have a good back |
