Just wanted to introduce myself - I've been a silver hunter for close to a year and a lurker here for about 6 months and have learned a lot from you guys - Thanks. I am not a huge sorter, I just collect CWR's from banks on small field trips I take once or twice a week (I don't order boxes) - usually halfs but occasionally dimes or nickels. I also sort for Cu on a small scale (pocket change and an occasional roll). To this point I have not kept detailed records but I estimate I've scored about 350-400 40%s and less than 100 90%s. My two best finds were 40 silvers from two rolls at a US Bank (in shaky, cursive writing they were actually marked "silver" - not sure how that got by the tellers) and a BU roll of 64s from a CU inside a Safeway grocery store - the only roll they had. I'll start posting on the silver halfs thread on my next "hunt". FYI I'm located in Washington state.

Welcome, bankmining! I was a lurker here for about 3 months, so I am technically newer than you. When I first started, I did not do boxes and large quantities of rolls like I do know. Pocket change and a few bucks in loose rolls is the way to start! Eventually, you will find yourself moving onto big amounts, which means a larger number of silver and copper finds. Good luck to you! Not being near OR will be to your advantage. Someone in OR is sucking up all of the silver, and most of the copper.
Welcome to RC. Post well and post often. |

Welcome. Glad to have you.

Live free or die. Plain and simple.
"If you love wealth more than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, depart from us in peace. We ask not your council or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you. May your chains rest lightly upon you and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen." - Samuel Adams |
