I went to a coin show today and one of the dealers had little baggies of common foreign coins for sale for $2 a bag.

I saw a bag of swiss 1/2 francs. In the middle were 2 swiss half francs from the 1950s

So for $2 I got:

1950 and 1951 1/2 Francs -- 0.0671 oz silver each
4 1968 1/2 Francs

I know not the deal of the century but still a good deal :)

Great deal! I always like to check the foreign coins bin at coin dealers to see if they missed any silver. No luck with that yet, but I did find a U.S. Large Cent from the 1800's that was SOOOO rubbed you could barely make it out as a Large Cent.

Nice find PS...you got just over $2 in silver as well as 4 pure Ni coins (each 4.5 grams) worth saving. I was also at the same show and missed those.

I hit the world coin bin at my local coin shop. I got 7 mexican 10 centavos coins .72 oz silver per peso for $1. That makes just a tad over a half ounce for a dollar.
