I went to a coin show today and one of the dealers had little baggies of common foreign coins for sale for $2 a bag.
I saw a bag of swiss 1/2 francs. In the middle were 2 swiss half francs from the 1950s
So for $2 I got:
1950 and 1951 1/2 Francs -- 0.0671 oz silver each 4 1968 1/2 Francs
I know not the deal of the century but still a good deal :)
SELLING COPPER PENNIES 1.4X FACE SHIPPED......“I sincerely believe that banking establishments are more dangerous than standing armies, and that the principles of spending money to be paid by posterity, under the name of funding, is but swindling futurity on a large scale” Thomas Jefferson
Great deal! I always like to check the foreign coins bin at coin dealers to see if they missed any silver. No luck with that yet, but I did find a U.S. Large Cent from the 1800's that was SOOOO rubbed you could barely make it out as a Large Cent.
I hit the world coin bin at my local coin shop. I got 7 mexican 10 centavos coins .72 oz silver per peso for $1. That makes just a tad over a half ounce for a dollar.
