Damn...I have a lot of dimes to dump before picking up today's box of halves. I've been letting them build up for too long!!! I wonder how many will get counted as pennies??

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!! OFF THE CHARTS - 12kHz. I can't believe the volume of SILVER halves you are finding!!
Finds like yours are what you would find in boxes 30 years ago. Maybe some of our older RealCenters can talk about the finds they got in the old days.
I sure would like to see some photos of your SILVERs. That would be a big encouragement to the rest of us. |

I see 12kHz has been receiving highly redshifted signals. Time travel to 1972!
Nice catch and um yea....pics or it didn't happen...
Big snow caused a state of emergency here til further notice...
(state of emergency = no halves to search)
Working 7 boxes of pennies with the Ryedale.

By request, here are some photos of my silver finds. (Click for larger versions.)
This is the first batch of silver that I sold. I started searching at the end of October 2009, and by the end of December I had $200 of 40% to sell. I also sold $10 of 90% (not all I had, just getting rid of some of the uglier ones). It all fit in a small flat rate box, though packaged a little differently from how it is shown here.

Less than two months later, I've managed to accumulate another $500 of 40%. The first three jars are 40%. Next is a jar of Kennedy 90%, about $50 worth, followed by a stack of Franklin halves and a much smaller stack of Walking Liberty halves. These are all "extra" halves, in addition to the one coin per date/mint that I am saving in coin folders.

My plan is to sell all the 40% that I find, but I am hanging on to most of the 90% for now. The big jar in the photo was originally full of pennies when I found it. Now that I have filled it with 40% and then some, I think my next goal will be to fill it with 90%.
I am thinking of shipping my next batch of halves in a medium flat rate box. Does anyone know how many halves I could reasonably fit in a medium box? Is there a reason to prefer one box shape over the other?

I've shipped $500 worth of halves in a medium flat rate box. With appropriate tape and packing you should be able to do likewise.
I've found Bullion Direct to be a good place to sell or buy large quantities of SILVERs at competitive prices.
Perhaps you could consider selling some of these 40%ers on RealCent? |

Interesting, you put your coins in jars. I like to keep them completely preserved from air, finger oil, and getting scratched by other coins by encasing them in cardboard holders. Maybe I should start putting them into jars instead. Last stop earlier today: 2 halves from a close by bank. Skunk. |
