Other stats: Two rolls over by ten cents each, One roll over by ninety cents
Overage/shortage total: Over $1.10 (I'm very thankful as this helps to make up for the many shortages I've had lately!)

Report on nickels searched:
$50.00 -- 20 CWRs and $10.00 worth not in rolls
V nickel - none
Buffalo - none
War Nickel - one -- 1/1945D
Proofs - none
Canadian pre-1982 - one -- 1/1979
2009 - one -- 1/2009P
Other found - one -- 1/1985 Canadian nickel (kept for birth year coin project)
Kept for nickel album - too many to list This was a very good search in that I filled 32 empty spots in my Jefferson nickel album (1938 - 1964) and was able to do upgrades on 13 coins!!! Some of the nickels would probably grade in a high AU to low MS condition. Several of the nickels found were 1938s and 1939s! Trying to fill this nickel album with just coins I find through searches has been exciting. Hopefully I will eventually find all of them; however, the war nickels may give me a bit of a problem as the one I found today was the first one I have found in a very, very, very long time.
Another interesting thing was that I found the War Nickel and the 2009 nickel in the same roll and they were back to back coins. Ironic!
Other stats: One roll was over ten cents (two nickels), One roll was shorted five cents
Overage/shortage total: Over five cents

My brother and I picked up ~$1,400.00 halves and two boxes of dimes yesterday (Sat. morning)...we did not get a chance to crack them yesterday though. We are slugging through them now...I will report full results (they don't look very good!!!) in the next couple of hours. I just didn't want you to run the final February stats w/o these included.

You have the 1857 Large Date copper. The condition is pretty rough. IMHO, I would give a grade of G4 because of the digs, scratches, and light corrosion. Looks like it might have been buried for awhile, and then cleaned long ago. Still, it's a scarce coin. |
