As Feb draws to a close I finish up a box of nickels skunked on silver but 2 buffs. Congrats on the LC find 0CD, at that price it's a great piece. |

It was a GREAT month for dimes...pretty dreadful on the halves (only 27 silvers this month). My find percentages on the halves are AWFUL. I am working awfully hard and deserve each one I find. Can it pick up?? Don't know.
RE: The spy coin I found. This is the same product that is sold on spy-coin.com or spy-coins.com. It is a 2000-D Kennedy w/ the correct US half dollar reverse. Not like the Magician's coin I found in January that had a British Large Penny paired with a Kennedy Half Dollar. I do not know if it contains a Micro-SD chip inside. You need a special ring in order to open it. You could probably pry or smash it open thus ruining it so I don't want to do that. If anyone has the special beveled ring needed to get these open please let me know.

You have the 1857 Large Date copper. The condition is pretty rough. IMHO, I would give a grade of G4 because of the digs, scratches, and light corrosion. Looks like it might have been buried for awhile, and then cleaned long ago. Still, it's a scarce coin.
If only the coin could talk eh?
The coin has more detail than the others I have for sure. I had already looked up the mintage and date type not long after I found it. I didn't even know I had it until hours after I had left the bank as it was mixed in with the handful of stuff from the rejects and magnets on a couple counters. It sure beats buying them!
This will not get sold and will get passed on to a daughter in time. I have one that has an interest and feel fortunate.
