Well folks, it appears the silver streak (with halves) is over...

Fear not forum faithful....I have yet to crack into the $500 bwr dimes I picked up late this afternoon, and will be getting AT LEAST $280 bwr halves first thing Thurs. morning  . In addition, I have a box of halves on order that should be in around Mar. 5th...so stay tuned... |

I haven't had time to sort for a while because of school, but I picked up 2 boxes of nickels yesterday, and got 1 war nickel. I also picked up $8 in loose halves but there wasn't anything good.

I always take whatever halves the tellers give me. Even if the halves are SKUNKY, the next time you stop by the bank, they may be good ones. Gotta keep the tellers on your side by taking away those awful halves from their trays. |

2 boxes halves:
Box 1, skunk
Box 2, 1 40% (would have missed on an edge sort) 1 72S clad proof (well worn). 1 71D half, sounds funny, 10.5 gram wt, under diameter, sharp reeding on edges.
2 boxes dimes:
Box 1: 2 silver roosevelt
Box 2: 3 silver roosevelt |

Crazy inconsistently wrapped and counted String rolls (CWI Boxes) w/ MANY long and short rolls. I came out ahead!!!
Breakdown:
Box #1 - $502.00 - CWI box (no facility/date stamp...4245 4-digit code)
(1) roll long $1.00, (10) long rolls, (8) short rolls...net +$2.00
(1) 90% - 64D JFK
(1) NIFC - 02D
Box #2 - $501.50 - CWI box (no facility/date stamp...again 4245 4-digit code)
(10) long rolls, (7) short rolls...net +$1.50
(3) 40% - 66, 67, 69D
Nice to be able to dump more $$$ than you spent and sock away 4 silvers to boot!!!

This morning:
At one bank: Just $3.00 loose halves. All skunk. I actually went by several banks, but this was the only one that had any loose halves.
Too bad I get so many skunks! Maybe I should begin searching boxes of halves like you guys do.
Also, a note for zerocd, since I know he hangs around here a lot. Would you mind stating what mint marks your steel penny finds were in my Steel Penny tracking thread? You only need to do so for the 25 that you found in the boxes of pennies and the teller tray pennies. Thank you, and further good luck to you! |

| My youngest was helping the old man out and found a '73 Barbados cent..it is cool looking with the trident on it...also I found a clipped copper cent and a zinc with only copper on the side of the rim...I am sure it was someone's experiment or something...I kept it. |
