I am new to scrapping, but I am accumilating alot of circuit boards. I know that they can refine the metals from them, but I had a few questions..
1. Does the board have to be cleaned of everything, leaving only the green board?
2. Do they have to be separated by what them came out of ie: computer,TV,phone..
3. Where can I sell these at?
Thanks for any help!

1. The boards do not need to be cleaned of everything, the green pcb board in good boards will have trace amounts of gold / copper but most of the value comes from IC's and chips on the boards.
2. Yes, different boards are worth more than others. Boards from TV's, VCR's, Power Supplies etc are very low end boards with little value. Computer boards and cell phones have gold in them that can be extracted.
3. Some local yards purchase them or Ebay. I purchase motherboards and pci cards from computers for $1.00 per pound delivered to my address. I pay $3.00 per pound for loose IC's and memory chips, and $10.00 per pound for processors. Email me at simplicitycounts@yahoo.com if you are interested. |
