I was going through some rolls tonight and in one roll had 49 cents and a small green button. I have found a lot of things in penny rolls....plastic pennies, dimes, foreign coins...etc. This is the first article of clothing.
I am betting buttons are not rare in penny rolls but I was wondering what was.
What is the strangest, oddest, grossest thing you ever have found in a penny roll?

Gold necklace, silver/clad dimes, plasic coins, foreign coins, wrong denomination coins, buttons, paper clips, candy, watch batteries, pieces of paper money, gum, marijuana seed once, as well as a roach. Not the crawly kind either.... That's probably the oddest thing I found.
A few finds, but now that I actually read your post, I see you wanted roll finds. These are bag finds. Oops.

The worst I got in rolls was pennies glued together. There was some that had 3 glued together. I had about 75 coins like this in about $50 worth of CWR's. It was a pain to sort with the Ryedale.
That turned me away from CWR's for several months. |

I got a piece of fabric in a penny roll once, it was the same size as a penny and sandwiched between two pennies.
When I first read the title, I thought you actually got an article of clothing in a roll, like a mini shirt or pair of pants meant for dressing up a doll |

I've gotten many items lodged inside rolls of pennies, but the strangest was a grime and dirt covered piece of paper. |

For me, it was some dark gunk in a roll that really smelled rancid. It was definitely food. |

I caught a hollow penny. Must have been one of those that was modified for a two tailed coin and the insert fell out. |

Just to clarify:
I don't smoke anything. Cigarettes or marijuana. I don't even drink alcohol.
I do not care if others do these things though, as it isn't any of my business.

p.s. Man, I sound boring.... |

Guns are my addiction. I can go to a casino with $1000, set a loss limit of $100, and I will ALWAYS walk out with at least $900. If I go to a gun show, now that's a problem....
Deal
p.s. Me being at the gun shop almost daily is like an alcoholic going to a bar after work, hehe. |

Does dryer lint count for clothing found in penny rolls??? At least, I want to think it is heat sanitized dryer lint and not something straight from a belly button---ICK!!!
Heavy Metal...you got off easy for your button. One button for one penny, not too bad of a deal considering the price of buttons these days. Now the one that really got to me was one button in place of three dimes in a dime roll. Now, that's a bit pricey for one button and it wasn't even one that was nice enough looking that I could reuse it in a craft project. |

I'm the same way. But I don't like to think of myself as sounding boring...I just say it doesn't take much to make me happy these days. Finding rolls that aren't short is always good. Finding something good in the rolls, well my excitement can barely be contained.
Nothing wrong with living a good, clean life. Especially in today's world.
