In one of the rolls from one of my best supply banks, I found a 1911 wheat penny! It's a common date and it is worn, but it is surprising to see one that old. My second oldest, a 1925, came from that same bank! No Indian Heads yet, but I will not stop even after I find one.

I was excited to get a 1918 last week, and today I found my first King! 1952. How cool is that?

The old ones are always a treat! What else to do you have that is almost 100 yrs old?

If you go through enough, you will find the earlier dates. I recently found a 1907 Indian, and five or six pre 1940 Lincolns in a String box.

Thanks for the kind words, guys. To answer No82s' question, I have plenty of coins that are well over 100 years old that I've bought from my local coin dealer. However, the 1911 penny is the closest coin to 100 years old that I have found in rolls of coinage. Has anybody here found an IH?

There are 'sticky' posts on this forum where people report their Indian Head finds and George V canadians so everyone can celebrate together our good fortune. Seems like people are finding wild indians out there, but they're like 1 in 500,000.
