I have noticed a few unique characteristics on the obverses (fronts) on all the pennies from 1959-1982.
1959-1968: Lincoln is bulging out and the dates are large. 1969-1973: Lincoln is mostly bulging out but the dates are small. 1974-1982: Lincoln is more pressed in to the pennies and the dates are large again.
These characteristics apply to all of these pennies. Anybody else recognize the same things?
I love the AU/BU 60s era strikes I see. So bold and strong, really good strikes.
They happen to be my favorites, aesthetically to find.
The newer cents have to be weak because of the very thin copper wash on them.
The silver [is] mine, and the gold [is] mine, saith the LORD of hosts. Hag 2:8 [/b] He created it. He controls it. He gave it to us for His use. Why did we turn from sound scriptural currency that PROTECTS us?
