Hello everyone! I'm new to this, even though I have been hoarding copper pennies for almost 2 years. I have trouble dumping at many banks because they always get suspicious as to why I have so many pennies. Do you think it is okay to tell them about the whole copper thing, or should I just say that I'm a collector completing sets and I have unneeded pennies? Any advice would be highly appreciated! :-)

| I found that if you tell them you are a coin collector and search coins for collectable ones then they think nothing of it. That way you are telling the truth without telling them that the collectible ones are an investment in copper. |

There are very few people I have told that I 'collect' copper cents. My wife and family think I am crazy as it is and they don't want it known they live with a crazy person.
Most of my dumps are done at a credit union. I walk up to a machine it counts them and I take the slip to the counter. No one even asks.
Getting the cents is harder. They ask if it is for your business, if you say yes there is a 3% fee. If it is no then why? Then I tell them I am a collector. |
Silver Monometalism is the most permanent and stable form of money the world has seen. Natural law and history prove silver value is best multiplied by gold and best divided by copper. It is only in this counterfeit currency time when the natural law appears suspended. |

| collector is the best. I usually then hear a story about thier father or grandfather collecting coins. They then feel like they can relate. Copper vs Zinc is too much for them to understand. |

| Great advice, everybody. I think 'collector' is the easiest way to go, but if you have anything else to add, please post it. Thanks! |

| Yesterday I had the teller ask me what I did with them. I just said "I sort through them." and I was on my way. |
