$560.50 Halves.
Breakdown:
$500.00 - Coin Wrap Inc. box (no facility/date stamp).
(1) 90% - 64D JFK (2) 40% - 68D (nice coin!!), 69D (1) NIFC - 02D
$60.50 - (6) String rolls from a CWI box (date unknown)...1 roll had an extra half dollar.
SKUNK
These partial boxes (loose machine rolls) just never seem to turn anything up. I would love to be able to get some CWR's...banks in my area just do not accept them though, everything has to be run through the counters. Also, I have only been able to buy loose coins from the counters three times. Same story..."we can't sell those".

Thanks...Regional box dispersion data will be coming soon. That's why I need to know what's in each box. |

The banks I visit don't have any boxes of Halves to buy. You're lucky if you can get a roll or even a few loose ones. |

I think most of the time, halves are ordered by the box kirkland. Any coins in volume should be ordered in advance, usually the previous week.
I know a few banks that will have a couple spares of smaller change but will ask you to order if you make it a habit to buy it.
A bank having a box of extra halves will generally send it back to their central storage. The banks keep branches on short leashes.
Learn the name of the head teller and order some. Be polite and get to know her.
Have fun searching halves.

Thanks kirkland...yea they were very cleaned/polished on the obverse and the reverse has a real sticky glue on them. Oh well, they were pretty much free so I can't complain! |

There is a 40% '76 proof...looks just like a regular 40% on the edge. I've only ever found 1...it's a tough pull. |

Polished and cleaned coins are a real drag. The first thing I tell people when i am extolling the virtues of coin collecting is, "NEVER CLEAN COINS." Everyone always thinks it will increase the coin's value if you polish it, but on the contrary. |

$2000 halves 1 90% 71 40% 1 proof
Details:
Box 1: 30 Kennedy 40%: 1965(4), 1966(2), 1967(5), 1968D(11), 1969D(8)
Box 2: 2 Kennedy 40%: 1967, 1968D
Box 3: 3 Kennedy 40%: 1967, 1969D(2)
Box 4: 36 Kennedy 40%: 1965(2), 1966(6), 1967(13), 1968D(15) 1 Kennedy 90%: 1964 1 proof: 2003S (pretty ugly looking)
Box 1 was unusual -- of the 30 silver halves, 27 were concentrated in just 3 rolls, containing 11, 9, and 7 silver halves. The remaining 3 were in 3 other rolls. The box must not have been the result of rolling an entire bag at once. To get such a concentration in a few rolls, I think a small, silver-rich batch of coins must have been rolled separately from the rest of the box.

You said to post your bad days too, so here we go...
$1000 bag 1 - 2004 NIFC
$160 CWR dimes 1 - 1964 1 - 2000 Bermuda 10 cent shorted .9 cents with a penny stuffed in one roll
$56 nickels nothing but a 1994 Bermuda 5 cent
Pathetic silver day... hopefully tomorrow is better. |

I didn't think there was such a thing as 1969P halves. Is the D mint mark just worn off?
That said... it sounds pretty fun going through a bag like that. Congrats! |

Congrats Computer Jones on that bag!!! Must have been a thrill-a-minute going through those. I would LOVE to be able to get CWR's or better yet a full bag off a coin counter.
On October 15, 2009 I was able to purchase an almost full bag of halves from my bank where I get $50 bags of pennies. I paid $440.50 and received $449.50 in halves. Yield was only (1) 90% JFK and (2) 40%. It is now January 20, 2010...3+ months later...new bag only has ~$40 in halves!!! At this rate it will take almost 3 years to fill assuming nobody dumps there.
