Zinc would have to at least double in price to see any profit on this auction. I would not pay $24 for apx. $18.14(10 lbs) in zinc cents.

Well I have to admit that they are creative- playing the hopes of the general population ignorance of coin composition. But then they are going ask:

I thought pennies where made out of copper?
If these are zinc and they must be special because their on ebay, what is the penny made out of now?

Hey you got to dump somewhere. I would not be surprised if that is a forum member since he is machine sorting. Other forum members have sold zincs before on ebay.

If your percentages are low.. just sort more. If your percentages are high.. just sort more.

by the way the item specifics on the auction incorrectly indicate copper pennies from 1909 to 1982.

thanks jade, i fixed it. I thought you guys might get a kick out of it, I wasn't thinking any of you would want to buy it. but you can if you need some more zincs. lol.... But, it will be interesting to watch and see if it gets any bids. if nothing else its more exposure. and gets people asking questions about pennies and zinc and copper. well worth a dollar or two in fees just for the amusement of watching it.
