| That looks like 4 sg ft of floor space. I am sure someone can do some math and figure out the weight of that beast. |

Running Total 131,996 pennies is what they have on the web site. I wonder if all are in the box. That is $1319.96.
That is 763lbs if the ratio is 75% zinc 25% copper. |

These are U.K. 1 penny coins, according to wikipedia they are 3.56g, bronze until 1992 then copper plated steel. The steel ones are a bit bigger, so I guess the mass is the same. I have a couple of them, they are a tiny bit bigger than U.S. pennies.
Odd thing though. A box of our pennies is 25,000, they claim to have 131,000 which would be ~5 boxes, that picture sure looks like it has more than 5 boxes of pennies in it. It looks to me like it has 30 or 40 boxes in it. That may already be a million pennies. |

| I still would prefer using boxes of (rolled) coppers as furniture. |

This is right up my alley! I am missing a few of the newest UK pennies for a complete set. Just can't seem to get newer ones over here. Hey, I wonder how many US cents are in that hoard? |

Uh, what?

Live free or die. Plain and simple.
"If you love wealth more than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, depart from us in peace. We ask not your council or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you. May your chains rest lightly upon you and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen." - Samuel Adams |

It's not the size it is how you use it.
Besides I bet there are a lot of zincs in the there. |
Awake, O kings of the earth! Come ye, O, come ye, with your gold and your silver, to the help of my people, to the house of the daughters of Zion, to the help of the people of the God of this Land even Jesus Christ. |

As a number of you have pointed out, I was off by an order of magnitude, given that, the number they say they have matches the picture much more closely. |
