| i can't stand FDR because he was a socialist but i had to vote SBA. first, the lady was not beautiful. second, the octogon around her portrait detracted from her appearance. |

| I wouldn't say that any of these coins are ugly, they are IMO less appealing and I like them less than the older coins. |

I don't care too much for the Ike. The back is ugly to me. Big ole clunky coin, no silver ( o.k. some are 40% )
The SBA was a joke. Almost the same size as a quarter. If you ever used one, you have to tell them that it is a dollar not a quarter. |

I tend to agree that the Ike Dollar is the ugliest, and that the Anthony Dollar is the runner-up.
I got a 1979-S Anthony Dollar as a Quarter in change last week. |

I voted for the Susan B. design only because the Jefferson Nickle with him sporting a mullet was not an option.
It is a far worse design, IMHO. |

| To me all modern US coins are crap, they are poorly struck and have very basic designs. I wanted to vote for all of them. If I had to choose one it would be the Ike, looks like Dr. Evils profile. At least the SBA octogon was thinking outside the box a step up for our mint, but didnt last long. Oh well maybe they will look better when China has full ownership of us and start making there own money for us to use, at leat it may have silver. |

I have a lesson that I do to show people visually just how US coins have gone.
I start by handing them a large cent, mostly copper and point that out.
Then I show them a silver dollar, then an Ike Dollar and mention that for almost 200 years a dollar was about 3/4 ounces of silver, but the Ike dollar is to make people think it is silver when it is not.
Then I show them a Susan Anthony dollar, and mention it looks like the bigger Ike, but is just smaller. Then I show then a Sacagewea Dollar and Washington copper dollars. I remind them these don't even pretend to be silver, they are just copper made to look shiny like gold.
Then I bring out the larger copper cent, and show them the "new dollars," don't even have the copper of an, "old cent."
I tell them if this is official currency, what is really going on?
This lesson of inflation stands out really well. |

| I voted for the SBA. But they all are ugly. The US Mint needs to bring back designs of Miss Liberty designed by a good artist and not a computer. |

I like the IKEs. On the reverse, the eagle landing on the moon is neat too. It's still a BIG dollar even though, except for some of the 40% proofs, it's a clad without SILVER.
I voted for the SBA as the worst. This coin ushered in the small dollars that we are stuck with today. |
