ANACS will grade coins from jewelry and the labels indicate as such. The premium on these ANACS slabs are present, but not nearly as good as regular circulated coins in the same grade.
I would pay scrap price for the chains and bezels, and numismatic value for the US coin less grading fee, less 15% margin for the decreased premium. This requires you to be able to accurately grade the coins on sight alone. The Krugerrand is bullion only. |

just curious, if you could get the coin out of the bezel, how would a grading company know it was a coin from jewelry? in other words, what is different about the coin once it comes out of the jewelry? |

There will be marks where the bezel came in contact, and there will be uneven toning on the covered areas. Those factors would reduce the numismatic value. Scrap prices have eliminated most of the premiums on many numismatic coins, so it is possible that none of them would fetch more than bullion value...unless it's a really rare date. |
