The mint produced 7,290,012,739 cents that year
multiply by 3.11 divide by 453 = 50,048,431 lbs of copper used
divide by total usage 7,331,000,000 pounds
answer is 0.0068% related to coins

If you pick up 1.35 each

after Ryedale sorting they are hand sorted to remove canadian then rechecked with Ryedale to insure all copper and count out $50 FV then placed in cloth bags and sealed with #1 copper wire.

and my numbers are way high, used 3.11, should only be 2.5% of 2.5grams so that makes it a little over a million pounds of copper used for just the pennies 1,005,796lbs. I'm tired, you guys look up the other numbers

I'm guessing "corrosion resistance", but I just found the chart.

we better start saving pvc now. they might start using it to make pennies, and then the price will skyrocket. does anyone know if it's legal to melt pvc?

With electrical using over 50%, this is what will drive the price higher. Houses will eventually have to be built. With all the empty ones out there, this might be delayed. The auto industry will be using more if they continue to make electric or hybrid cars.

You don't have to be the BEST you just have to be.......SLICK
