Does anyone know when they are going to announce the winner for the 2010 cent? I have seen all of the proposed designs but not a date when they will pick the winner.

| I dunno, hope it's a good one. But will it be just 2010? Or kept forever? |

Maybe a new design every month to keep the money rolling into the mint....
Deal |
Live free or die. Plain and simple.
"If you love wealth more than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, depart from us in peace. We ask not your council or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you. May your chains rest lightly upon you and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen." - Samuel Adams |

Everywhere I have read its probably going to be the reverse with the cartoony shield...
I really hate that one. Hope it grows on me... |

| From what I understand, this is supposed to be a permanent design (i.e for another 50 years). I am sure they will come up with something to make "special" designs every few years and sell more at a premium. |

I hope they choose the shield design. The Shield of Unity is one of the most underused patriotic symbols in American history, along with Lady Columbia.
There's two months left in the 2009 calendar year, but if they pick a design and produce it before December 31, 2010, they'll still be on time. Given how the nickel and dime production lines have shut down indefinitely, I suspect there's little demand for cents, and cent production might not start up until several months into the new year. |

The way collectors have been snapping up the 2009s, I would think there would be less in circulation than in most years. Of course, there is probably enough in circulation now that they don't need to mint anthing for a few years anyway. |
