I had a pretty awesome day today.

I go around to dollar days at one of the local thrift stores.

I saw a Yomaha motorcycle exhaust pipe that was originally marked at $39 that I got for a $1.

I picked it up because I figured I could scrap it. When I realized it was new, I decided to take it to my local ebay store to see if it was worth anything beyond scrap value.

I had also bid on 2 coins listed at the ebay store and won them. One was a 1853 with arrows half dime good condition and a 1888 S dime in VF condition.

I had won both for $9.95 a piece and since I was local didnt have to pay for shipping but did have to pay for state sales tax.

I made him a deal that I would trade him the exhaust pipe for the 2 coins.

So pretty much I got those coins for 50 cents a piece.

Made me pretty happy :)

Now I wonder if there is a motorcycle web site where someone is bragging how he made out getting a new exhaust pipe for a few old coins. HMMMMM. In this instance everyone came out ahead.
Nice going for you though.

Good job. I love trading stuff like that. I was metal detecting at a local park last summer and found 2 quarters while there. After I left I found a garage sale and found a nice 10K gold ring in the junk jewelry box and paid for it with the nasty black quarters I had just dug out of the ground.
