My vote is for LP-02 reminds me of the old Wheat or the LP-15. Any of them is going to make my old ones worth more so it really don't matter.

The original and formal name of the work was Freedom Triumphant in War and Peace. Official United States government publications say that now the statue "is officially known as the Statue of Freedom".

I always thought it was Minerva. Interesting.

Why such heavy focus on the Capitol reverse designs? Does it identify the economic theme going forward and from where it originates- "Take every last red cent"

The first panacea for a mismanaged nation is inflation of the currency; second is war. Both bring a temporary (and false) prosperity; both bring a permanent ruin. But both are the refuge of political and economic opportunities.

Why can't they make coins like the art they use to be?

The coins of the late 1800's and early 1900's were almost like sculptures. The designs now-a-days look cheap in my opinion.

Sorry to give my 2 cents again but just for an example

Look at how beautiful the statute of freedom is in that photo

However, the coin design looks like a high school project in my opinion.

Absolutely - I'd say more like GRADE school.

I like the look of LP-13, but voted for LP-12. It is meant to show what Lincoln did for the country. I think LP-12 is the closest to what he really did.

Silver Monometalism is the most permanent and stable form of money the world has seen. Natural law and history prove silver value is best multiplied by gold and best divided by copper. It is only in this counterfeit currency time when the natural law appears suspended.

I didn't see any designs with a ruthless Union Army pillaging innocent civilians.

I voted for LP 12 but i'm not crazy about any of them, except i do kind of like the wheat one mentioned earlier.

I'd just be happy if they took Lincoln off the front of the coin. It's a shame to honor a mass murderer that shredded the Constitution

It looks like we have a winner:

This was LP-13 in the poll and received 20% of the vote.

I'm looking forward to getting the new design in change some day.

Doesn't sound like this is a permanent design for the near future...perhaps the end of the penny is near?
