Anyone invest in rare earth element stocks?
Any suggestions on which ones to look into? Opinions of GWMGF? Is it worth it to gamble a few hundred dollars? Thanks

I did have a nice list; I will send it to you, although the information may be a little old. There was one particular company in Chile, not quite rare earth, but mining indium with a high silver output as a bi-product. But a long list of rare earth miners as well, organized by mineral. |

Don't know if you guys have ever heard of Jim Jubak but he just said today that China pulled out of a deal with an Austrialan company named Lynas (LYSCY). Supposedly they own one of the biggest potenial RE mines outside of China. Not pumping at all but check Jim out. It's free and he seems to be a straight up guy. jubakpicks.com (Admins - if this is wrong, sorry, let me know and I won't do it again) |

looks like lynas hit a snag,You must be logged in to see this link. but still worth watching also You must be logged in to see this link. i like gwmg, maybe wait for a minor pullback at under .30 or place a lower bid. just keep researching ree's and you will find a few companys out there, but imo gwmg is the way to go recent darpa contract award and rejected offers from molycorp seems strong |

Here is a very good source of niche metals. I used to read the moderator, "LoneClone" every day, about two bubbles ago. I would highly recommend his siliconinvestor page to you. Not only the extensive list of companies at the beginning, but also his commentary on specific stocks and events. (although I haven't looked at it in several years)

A very interesting article is linked below from Lone Clone's page. Talks about China producing 97% of the rare earth metals, and using that control to limit exports, and pull industries into China. Also some of the critical uses of rare earth metals, including missle technology. Good starting place for rare-earth research, and of general interest.

Thanks for the link. silicon investor,,,,,,,,,,that's a blast from the past I'd rather forget. The Marketwatch link was great. That's what I was looking for.
I'm thinking of a couple of hundred dollars in each of the Rare Earth Elements stocks available for trading. Kind of my own ETF. Nothing but fun money. Like going to the casino. When/if one stock doubles (plus 20%) I will take half off the table and let the house money ride out for the long term. Researching now. Thanks for the info. |

I found this link on Rare Earth Element stocks to consider.
You must be logged in to see this link.
AVL Buy CCE Strong Buy EEC Buy GDR Hold GWG Buy MAT Buy QUC Buy RES Buy XL Hold UCU Buy I have below outlined a summary of the last week's developments which were underway with many of the rare earth and rare metal companies:
QUC The biggest news of the week was that Quest Uranium released initial assay results from the company's B-zone at the Strange Lake Project in Quebec. Results were encouraging and the company will commission a resource calculation with Wardrop Engineering upon completion of all drilling at its property.
UCU UCU released the results from a sampling program at its Alaskan Bokan-Dotson Ridge project. Referred to as 'predrill program' results, I am confused with their choice of words. How does their sampling differ from all the other companies sampling prior to drilling. Overall, the stock ended the week up a net $0.06 following the news.
AVL
Released news of the renaming of their Lake Zone deposit to Nechalacho. While a non-event, it is a responsible action by the company in setting the stage for community engagement with the Dene First Nation. This is important for future development.
CCE There was no news from the company this week but it continues to be one of the more active traders. The stock surged on Friday at a new 52-week high; an accomplishment made 3 times during the week. Commerce remains one of the best financed companies in the group, and trades at a discount to the market cap of Avalon. I continue to keep a close eye on Commerce.
GWG GWG announced that they have made a second property payment on their South African project. No time frame was given for the completion of a NI43-101 geological report on the project. I look forward to reviewing it when completed; especially since the project is being referred to as "extremely important" to the company.
RES RES completed its $3 private placement from 19 placees at $3.00 per unit. No insiders or pro-groups participated in the financing.
GDR GDR announced a non brokered private placement with flow-through king MineralFields. Time will tell whether doing a large financing with a flow0through fund is a good idea or not. It is well known that shareholders sometimes do not appreciate flow-through financings.
The Weekend The week ended with the Cambridge Conference in Toronto, Most major rare metal companies exhibited. On Saturday evening, RareMetalBlog and John Kaiser hosted a Rare Metal Night inappropriate languagetail reception at the Intercontinental Hotel in downtown Toronto. The event was reportedly very well attended by a who's who of the mineral finance community. |
