My experiences with those types of coin shows are that almost all the prices are extreamely inflated. Well over the normal coin show prices. This is true of all large coin shows of multi day times. Naturally the reasons are simple. Dealers must make reservations in hotels, motels, purchase food and beverages while there, transportation to and from the show, possibly from other states. Some take family members with. Some dealers leave a coin store where some purchses are now missed. These and many other items create the necessity to inflate coin prices to pay for all that. Of course with an extensive quantity of dealers, there is a greater selection of coins to chose from also. Smaller shows are as a rule much more avaiable, easier to get to, usually no admittance or parking fees and for sure better deals on coins. I might be wrong but after over 60 years of coin collecting, that is just my opinion. |
