I happened to spot a sign about a Coin Show (Canada's Money Show) in Edmonton yesterday. I popped in and looked around. First coin show I've been too since I'm not much of a collector. I actually just collect whatever is interesting that I find in rolls while looking for copper, nickel and silver.

I found a good bullion dealer there based in Edmonton. He focuses on the pure gold, silver, platnum, palladum etc. Lots of stock in the big bars, coins etc. Most interestingly he has a just under 1000 ounce bar of silver on display to touch, feel, stoke and attempt to lift. Said it is worth around $17,000 CDN. At a little bigger then a typical loaf of bread I think I could find somewhere to stash a few of those bars somewhere safe. People that say silver is too bulky just don't know what they are talking about.

Keep on going to coin shows. Even if you don't collect coins or are not in the market right now, keep on going. There are numerous reasons to do so.
1. You can learn from usually experienced dealers and collectors many things you never knew before.
2. Good excersize just walking around
3. As you get older it is more and more difficult to meet new people so coin shows and many other types of shows are a little better that hanging around a bar.
4. You may learn you have coins at home worth some money that you never knew about.
