27.3% copper humm way above average. It could be because 16 rolls were solid copper? That was a first for me. It's been a good couple of weeks.

A lot of the pennies in this batch were nasty, even some of the coppers. It was like they sat at the bottom of a well for some time.
My small copper stash is getting near 100 lbs! I know it's nothing to you guys, but it was one of my goals for my hand sorting. |

I used my new Ryedale ACE to hand sort a $25 box of pennies today. I find it useful, easier on the eyes. Sorting was at least 50% faster. You have to be careful not to drop the coins into the hand feeder too fast because if you do more zincs will appear with your coppers. The ACE is nearly 100% efficient not allowing coppers to go into the zinc pile. I saw only one copper mixed in with the zincs. Some zincs will appear in the copper pile - I had to cull out about 50 zincs out of my copper pile. In addition, I weighed each of the 65 1982s in my copper pile - they all passed the weight test. Since I hand roll separating out wheats, copper-1982's, clean coppers, and ugly abes anyway, a few zincs are easily culled out by me. |

Not sure what is up with my source bank, but got another box filled with just nasty pennies. Thats got to be 6 boxes now that are all the same, filled with grimy green beat up coins that look like 99% have been belt sanded by a porcupine, even the 09s!
