Well, I scored my best deal ever on craiglist a week or so ago and I'm still combing through it all. Pennies pennies and then some more pennies everywhere. There was probably only 20.00 face in silver total just mostly pennies. Here are a few pics of what I picked up!!

Here is approximately 5,500 Indians

10k in solid date wheat rolls, with 2 rolls of 09-p vdb's and 6 rolls 09-p many other decent rolls as well

Here are some bulk wheats and some other misc. things in the deal probably at least 25k in wheats there.

I found a 1909-s in VF that I kept for my set and a 14-s in EF++ I paid 3.4 cents each for those two :) along with quite a bit of other 10.00+ semi keys. I got 2 whole rolls of 1909 vdb's 3.5 cents each, lol. I have yet to look through the 10,000+ count wheat bags of 1930's and below only. I probably have 10,000 more unsearched wheats and 20K in date rolls not sure yet haven't counted.

Anyways here is my story. I regulary list buy ads on craiglist and from time to time I find OK deals on there from people. This guy called me up and said he had a few bags of 1930's and below wheats that he wanted 3.5-4.0 cents each for. Boy I was all excited about that and rushed right over there. When I got there he started pulling out boxes of wheat and Indians one after another until his entire dining room table was stacked full. He asked me if I was interested in more pennies other than the bags, OF COURSE, lol. We haggled about all the stuff for about 2 hours and he kept looking up Ebay values on stuff. I kept reminding him of the hassel and the fees and blah blah blah. I even told him Market Harmony's story about paypal. Well there was no way we could go through all the stuff and much more count them all. I think he eventually got tired of it all and just wanted to get rid of it, so he said ahh take it all for X,XXX. Wow I felt like I won the lottery, he knew approximately what he had in them but wanted to get rid of them quickly. He probably even knew more about coins than I, just not the prices :). Ummm, my mouth is still watering.

Scott

Yeppers, I told him there was no way I was walking out of there without that tub of animal crackers. My son wouldn't know what to do without his snacks! That cracks me up.

I think there are 10-15 Flying eagles in total, haven't really counted those yet. Didn't get the 1877. I did get a 1869 and 1908-s, 1909-s wheat.

Send me a Pm with your want list. I have already sold two near complete sets, so I'm starting to run thin in some spots.

Great deal! Thanks for sharing with us. Glad you were able to use MH's story on here to your advantage. Many forlks look stuff up on eBay completed auctions an automatically assume their stuff should be worth whatever the highest price ever realized on eBay was.. forget the ebay fees, the paypal fees, the listing fees, the shipping, and the hassle. I would be interested in purchasing bulk or better date Indians and wheats once you get everything sorted out.

If your percentages are low.. just sort more. If your percentages are high.. just sort more.

Now selling Copper pennies. 1.6x plus shipping. Limited amounts available.

Yes, I did thankfully. Its amazing how much extra stopping distance you need with all of that extra wieght. I rolled almost clear past the white lines at red lights many times on the way home.
