Closures of nickel mines means lower supply,
lower supply=higher prices, providing demand remains the same or increases slightly.

If there are lower prices now due to reduced demand,
lower prices means China buys more metal as a strategic reserve, meaning higher prices later when demand picks up.

Nickel is slowly on it's way back up. I bought a 250 kilo can of pellets last Friday for $8.50/lb.
