Probably this has been covered before, and if so, my apologies for bringing up again. However, I was wondering if anyone has 'estimated' how many pounds of copper pennies can be stored in a five gallon 'paint style' plastic bucket? Or ... anyone care to give a ballpark estimate approximately how much in dollars would a 'full of pennies' 5 gallon bucket hold?
Sheba- If you shake and shimmy as you fill, then you should be able to squeeze 200 lbs or $300 face in a 5 gallon bucket. I've repeated this process a couple dozen times thus far.
Cheers!
The first panacea for a mismanaged nation is inflation of the currency; second is war. Both bring a temporary (and false) prosperity; both bring a permanent ruin. But both are the refuge of political and economic opportunities.
Thanks very much, jonflyfish. I guess that means I will only need ten 5 gal. buckets to get my first ton That's 'gonna be a lot of 'hand sorting' . The banks we visit regularly are sure going to get to know us (my wife and I) quite well!
