I don't think it's quite time yet, but it will be soon.

I'm going today to make my first large silver purchase ever (junk dimes) and hopefully can do it again in mid-August.

90% premiums are gone. It's a good time to buy. Hope you get a great price.

I think we have a few more months, but this could change depending on economic reports, world events (war etc), stimulus packages (ha)...

I personally believe we could see low $12's still this summer...

Silver is 13.13 most likely 12 by this week. Gold is headed down too.

I got 11x face, which seemed pretty good. (I am not used to buying things priced in that format.) I passed out a few Mercury dimes to the credit union peeps, since they hooked me up with the good dime wrappers. They said, "Oooooooo, aaaaaaaah!"

Edited to add: The tellers are all older ladies so they know what I gave them. No worries that they'll go out and spend them.

I haven't bought 90 for a dealer in awhile. 11x the going rate right now? I would think 10ish would be more in line, of course depending on the dealers spread. I have found that some dealers buy lower, sell lower and other buy higher, sell higher.

I always make sure to buy from the low guy and sell to the high guy...

Of course depending where you are in the country, prices do very... Congrats Ant!!!

Just a few weeks ago, someone here proclaimed silver is headed "to da moon!" like someone always does whenever there is a temporary spike. Now, where is it headed? No one knows for sure. Just keep buying.

"Of all tyrannies, a tyranny exercised for the good of it's victims may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busy-bodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end, for they do so with the approval of their own conscience." - C.S. I'm sure with yesterday's and today's mini-dollar rally and gold/silver sell-off the deflation camp is having a party. In a certain way, I hope they are right, since the little guy will not get destroyed by deflation as bad as if there is inflation. However, I can't see deflation persisting for long because there would be no way to repay the nation's debt. I think it is something like this: "they" will cause deflation long enough for the banks to buy up lots of assets with their free bailout money, then cause inflation to pay back the national debt with cheap dollar. Its a giant power consolidation move. That is just my new theory.

And he that hath lyberte ought to kepe hit wel / For nothyng is better than lyberte / For lyberte shold not be wel sold for alle the gold and syluer of all the world.

If silver goes down some more, this will be a great buying opportunity to buy some more. 90% is selling at spot, other premiums are way way down. If silver goes down to $10, you might be able to buy 90% around 7X face this time around.

I think if silver drops too fast, premiums will rise, don't hold your breathe for low priced silver after a fast drop, it will be either no silver or high premium silver.

We need a slow price drop to keep the premiums down.

For purchases I would go with bars, 10oz preferably, they are usually a little over spot and will retain their value for resale as where 90% will most likely return to 85-90% of spot sell prices.

I decided to take a look at the price of silver over a decade per

You must be logged in to see this link.

If I am reading the charts right,
2001, 2004, 2006 were years when silver went down in price during June and July but regained from the summer doldrums.

While charts are not the only tool an investor should use, charts do provide a visual guide of what happened if not the reasons they happened (big silver mine closed, buying due to weddings, silver being cheaper than gold, financial panic/safe haven, etc.)

I think silver is on vacation along with stocks (sell in May and go away, back in November for gains in December or something like that.)

Now is a good time to add to the hoarde if you can find silver and gold at good prices.

I change with the times-
but like silver coins found in your change
I stay the same.
