This week I have had two really strange things happen in regards to my searching coins for anything interesting besides the coins for the birth year coin projects.
I got out of the car on Tuesday at a convenience store when I rode to work with my husband so I could get out of the house. There was one penny on the ground right by our car. Of course, I stoop over to pick it up, and, as has become my habit, I put it in a different pocket so I can't "spend" it until I have had a chance to check over it for date, errors, etc.
Finally got a chance a few nights later to look it over and was very pleasantly surprised to see that it was a 2000 Wide AM Penny. It's got some green gunk on it on the reverse but hey, it is still and error coin and made me very happy.
That then got my wheels to turning as I know most of us pick up pennies but the remainder of the population seems to scorn them. If this penny had been in nice condition it would be valued at between $1.00 - $2.00. I wonder if a person who would turn their nose up at stooping over to pick up one cent would also turn their nose up at bending over to pick up $1.00 - $2.00???
You never know what you might possibly find!
Enjoy.
