I went in to my bank yesterday to pick up me weekly standing order for a box of pennys. The teller asks me if I've found anything interesting lately to which I replied - No, nothing recently. So she hands me 3 1967 centenial quarters for only 3 regular quarters in return. Good stuff!!
Then she told me about another quarter that came in that roll. A different teller kept that one for herself. It was a 1875 Queen Victoria quarter in decent shape!!
I didn't think that there would be any of those quarters still kicking around in circulation!

Nice. Yes. Very nice.

You have got to be kidding me. 1875 is the KEY date for QV quarters!!!

Are you interested in selling it? It would make a great addition to my collection.

Congrats on a fine score!
Did the other teller let you at least see the 1875?

Very old stuff is starting to show up at banks.

It wasn't me that found this, but at the coin shop on Friday he showed me a Barber half dollar that a woman had just received in change at a bank locally. Of course, she promptly paid a visit to the coin shop to sell the coin.

I sure wish I could have this sort of luck! The coin was gorgeous and I think it was in XF or XF+ condition. I don't remember the details as far as date, etc. as my mind had gone numb by then.

From a collecting standpoint people being desperate for cash make it easier to find older coins.

It also tells us how badly people are needing right now money.

Awake, O kings of the earth! Come ye, O, come ye, with your gold and your silver, to the help of my people, to the house of the daughters of Zion, to the help of the people of the God of this Land even Jesus Christ.
