Since i started using the ryedale, i am missing some of my wheats wich was a given unless i want to go back and hand sort wich i do some times, but i have started to notice a lower percentage of wheats from my cwi boxes lately. i sorted 2 boxes the other night and went through and hand sorted the copper afterwards and only got 6 wheats from both boxes. I am doing a zinc accept 1st run and then a copper accept 2nd run when i use the ryedale to get all my earlier year wheats, then sort through the coppers for the rest pulling any i see out along the way.

I did however in the last couple days find a 1953-D in BU condition and a 1910 in XF condition.

Some weird coins does slip through the ryedale on the zinc accept. YOu have to manually look through them to see if you missed anything. My last $500 run only netted me 1 1930s penny & 2 zinc canadians by skimming through the zinc accepts.

I've pulled a george V on the zinc accept before.

Most of the older wheats & my most recent IHP were rejected from the zinc accept & from the copper accept.

Very, very nice! Finds like those would definitely excite me.

Continued success.

I just did 4 boxes last night zinc except first time through then copper except the same as you. When doing the copper except I use a older 20's or 30's wheat and adjust the sensitivity so that just a few of the newer coppers are getting through along with the older wheat's. I Check these 100% for wheat's (I'll even get a few newer wheat's this way). Then I rummage through the rest of the coppers in the bucket. I found 77 wheat's in 4 boxes this way.

Congratulations PennySaved! That is a pretty rare find around here. When I had my Ryedale I just manually searched through the copper after I was done, and looked while the zincs were pouring down for wheats.

I did my second box of coppers tonight. Last time I only got about 8 wheats, but this time (different bank, machine wrapped, Brinks) I got 38 wheats! I also think my copper % was about 30-35% (didn't keep track all the way through). That's 1.5% wheats. I was getting almost one per roll (a few with 2 each). How above normal is this?

I just leave the wheats in the coppers....

Plain and simple.

After only getting 8-12 wheats per box in the last few weeks, I sorted a CWI box last night and wheaties were spilling out all over the place! Most rolls had 1-2 while a few had 3-4 and one roll had 8 wheats in it! A total of 75 wheats out of that box, half of them earlier than 1940. About 6 were in the teen years with the earliest a 1911P. Also in there was a 1943P steelie in XF condition. To top off this box, it ended up being 34.5% CU!

I haven't noticed a decrease in Wheats. If anything, my averages have gone up.

Congrats! Finding so many wheats as the norm is unusual. If that was typical for my area, I'd go bonkers and buy so many boxes at multiple locations that when I went out for a roundup I'd make the Brinks driver look silly for hauling around his small loads in his bomb shelter.
